MANY THANKS TO THOSE THAT BROUGHT MEALS TO ME DURING MY SURGERY RECOVERY. IT WAS GREATLY APPRECIATED. -Kirby Christensen

THERE WILL BE A MISSION COMMITTEE MEETING AFTER CHURCH ON SUNDAY, OCTOBER 5TH AT 10:45AM.

THERE WILL BE A HALLOWEEN PARTY BENEFITING THE COLO-NESCO ANGEL TREE PROJECT ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 18TH AT 5PM AT DAKINS CENTER IN ZEARING. Come in a costume, or not, to enjoy a family friendly event featuring the band “The Remedy” and a chili feed. This event will be a free will donation.

THE CHOSEN, SEASONS 1-4, HAVE BEEN DONATED TO THE CHURCH. It is available for check-out on the table outside the sanctuary. There are also other materials available for checkout in the library downstairs, located at the bottom of the stairs by the glass doors.

THE CHURCH IS RAISING MONEY IN PREPARATION FOR A NEW ROOF, WHICH IS APPROXIMATELY 5-7 YEARS AWAY. Please write in the memo of the check if you would like to donate towards the roof account.

OUR ANNUAL KUMLA DINNER AND HARVEST SALE AUCTION IS FAST APPROACHING ON SUNDAY, DECEMBER 7TH.  Please start thinking of homemade items and donations that can be sold at the auction.

FALL CLEAN UP DAY IS SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 2nd. Rain date will be Sunday, November 9th.

ZEARING CARE CENTER CHURCH SERVICE IS HELD THE 4th SUNDAY OF EACH MONTH BEGINNING AROUND 11:30AM, everyone is welcome to attend. The next service will be September 28th.

OUR LOCAL MISSION IS BETHANY LUTHERAN DAYCARE. Daycare friends have created an Amazon Wish List of items they would like for the daycare. These items include toys, sensory items, ministry items, and cleaning supplies. You can ask for assistance from Pastor Staci and Leanna, or shop on your own! Here is how to find the list:

  • Log in to your Amazon account
  • Hover over “Account and Lists” in the top right corner, then click on “Find a List or Registry”
  • Click “Find a Registry” on the left side.
  • Type “Stacie Aguilar,” who is the daycare director, and select “Gift List.”
  • It will say it didn’t find the list.
  • On the left-hand side, change the state to “IA”, then “Search for Gift List”
  • Select the list that says “Bethany Lutheran Daycare” and START shopping!

WOULD YOU LIKE TO BECOME A MEMBER OF BETHANY LUTHERAN CHURCH? Please talk with Pastor Staci or one of the deacons so we can set up a time that works for you.

THE CHURCH HAS BOUGHT A NEW HEARING ASSIST DEVICE WITH SOME MEMORIAL MONEY. If you, or someone who know, would benefit from using this service then talk with Mark Thomas, Loyal Winborn, or Brad Becker and they will get you set up with a receiver. We currently have 8 hearing assistance receivers and 2 neckloops for people with hearing aids.

KAREN SUMNER IS NOW IN CHARGE OF THE FOOD AT FIRST MEAL HANDOUTS FOR BETHANY LUTHERAN CHURCH, if you have any questions/concerns or would like to help with handing out meals on Monday or Thursday evenings, please speak with her directly.

FOOD AT FIRST IS NOW DELIVERING TO THE ZEARING LIBRARY: When you call to place your order specify you would like to pick up meals in Zearing and they will tell you what time meals will be dropped off on Mondays and Thursdays.

 

 DAYCARE NEWS: The children in the preschool room learned about Jesus through song while playing with play dough this week. One of their favorite songs is “Jesus Loves Me.”
