30 Hour Famine

Friday, March 31 – Saturday, April 1

This combination lock-in/fundraiser provides high schoolers with a fun, educational, and hands on look at the world hunger crisis. Our goal is to raise $500 for World Vision, enough to feed a child for a year. If you are considering donating to this fundraiser, let Jordan, Chris or Pastor Kathy know.

The Truth Project

The Truth Project continues at 5:00 on Sunday evenings. This 12 week DVD study from Focus on the Family is designed to help us to know the truth claims of God and to see the evidence for them. We hope you can join us.

See you at the movies

Facing Darkness is the true story of how God worked to save the life of Dr. Kent Brantly, one of Samaritan Purse’s doctors serving the Liberia during the Ebola crisis. The movie also tells the story of missionary Nancy Writebol. The Samaritan Purse movie will be coming to theaters, including Movies 12 in Ames, for one night only – Thursday, March 30.

All proceeds that Samaritan’s Purse receives from the movie showing will go toward medical missions. If you would like to go as a group, sign up on the sheet at the table in the narthex.

Notice of congregation meeting

On Sunday, March 5, the Bethany Lutheran Church Council met and voted to call a special Congregational Meeting on Sunday, March 26. The purpose of the meeting is to seek congregational approval to spend up to $20,000 towards the purchase of a van for daycare/church use. The Daycare Board has advised that being able to provide transportation to various pick-up and drop-off locations in the surrounding communities, as well as being able to offer a summer program that includes off-site field trips will be instrumental to the success of this program.

The meeting will be held in the sanctuary immediately following our 9:30 AM Worship Service on Sunday, March 26.
