*ATTENTION: CONGREGATIONAL MEETING*
Bethany Lutheran Church will be holding a special congregational meeting on September 22, 2024, after church services to vote on calling Pastors Dayna and Bobby Legget to be our ministers.
Only qualified voting members are allowed to vote according to the Church Constitution and Bylaws, Article 7.02 c, as printed below:
- Article 7 – Membership
- 7.02 c. – Voting Members are confirmed members, having communed in the preceding 12 months, and made a contribution of record in the preceding 12 months.
Voting will be by written ballot and must pass by 2/3rds vote for those who attend the special congregational meeting. If the vote passes, a Letter of Call from Bethany Lutheran Church will be extended to Pastors Dayna and Bobby Leggett.
If you have any questions regarding Pastors Bobby and Dayna, please see a member of the Call Committee or if you have any questions regarding the special congregational meeting, please see a Council member in the weeks before the day of the vote.

RALLY SUNDAY IS SEPTEMBER 8TH: The mission committee will also be serving a meal. Sunday School teacher installation will be September 8th as well.

THE STORY COUNTY GIDEONS WILL BE PASSING OUT POCKET SCRIPTURES ON ISU’S CAMPUS ON WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 18TH. They will be meeting at the west Hy-Vee before heading out to the campus area. ZEARING CARE CENTER CHURCH SERVICE IS HELD THE 4th SUNDAY OF EACH MONTH BEGINNING AROUND 11:30AM, everyone is welcome to attend.
OUR DAYCARE IS HIRING AND ACCEPTING MORE CHILDREN. If you know of anyone looking for childcare for all ages, please have them call 515-338-0182. We are also looking to hire more help, if you know of a qualified individual that enjoys working with children; please have them call 515-338-0182 to set up an interview.
KAREN SUMNER IS NOW IN CHARGE OF THE FOOD AT FIRST MEAL HANDOUTS FOR BETHANY LUTHERAN CHURCH, if you have any questions/concerns or would like to help with handing out meals on Monday or Thursday evenings, please speak with her directly.
FOOD AT FIRST IS NOW DELIVERING TO THE ZEARING LIBRARY: When you call to place your order specify you would like to pick up your meals in Zearing and they will tell you what time meals will be dropped off on Mondays and Thursdays.
CANS THAT ARE PASSED AROUND DURING OFFERING are for donations of loose change to go to International Justice Mission in their fight to end human trafficking.
BRADEN THOMAS AND HIS WIFE LUPE have returned and are stationed at Fort Campbell in Kentucky. Please keep them, and all of our military, in your prayers.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR INDIVIDUALS WILLING TO LEARN TO RUN OUR SOUND/VIDEO SYSTEM. If God has gifted you with a skill for technology, please talk to Mark Thomas or Brad Becker to see how you can help. Brad has offered to teach a class to anyone interested in learning.
